Hitler
Hitler was born on the 20th of April 1889 on the Austrian/German coast. He left school with no qualifications, however he wanted to be an artist. He struggled to make a living as a painter; he had also been rejected from a Viennese art school. He moved to Munich in 1914 as the outbreak of WW1 started. He also served in the German army where he got hit by a gas bomb and was seriously injured. Whilst he was in hospital, Germany lost the war.
In prison
Hitler wanted to be a politicain and tried to take over the Bavarian Goverment. He was sentenced to five years in prison but due to good behaviour he was reduced to nine months. During his time in prison he wrote a book called Mein Kampf which contained racist comments and quotes!
Nazi power
Soon Hitler was gaining popular support and his Nazi party was rising to power. He said that Jews were to blame for the First World War. The German people wanted someone to blame so they went along with his ideas and his book he wrote in prison soon was bought along across Germany. After no time Hitler was Chancellor of Germany and started to enforce minor anti-Jewish laws. Hitler took his role as chancellor as an advantage and made sure the Nazi party won the national vote. Once they won Hitler eliminated the other parties and so he would win every time. Anti-Jew laws become harsher and more life changing. Many were sent to concentration camps where they were tortured until death.
How the war started
Not only did Hitler wanted to punish Jews he wanted to control Europe so in 1939 he took over Austria. At that time Neville Chamberlain thought that Austria was full of Germans so he let that slide. However he made a pact with Hitler to not attack Poland. Unfortunately that didn't last long. He sent forces to attack Poland ,Czechoslovakia and other Eastern Europe countries. In no time he had reached France. Unlike other countries France had allies. British soldiers were waiting in France. Yet the Germans ploughed through France and pushed the soldiers back to the town of Dunkirk. The British soldiers were evacuated whilst the French put on a last stand to defend their country. The reason the British escaped so easily was because Hitler didn't want to attack the British so he let them go as an act of peace.

Battle of Britain
Hitler realised that Britain weren't giving up so he finally decided to do something about it. In the early July 1940 he attacked Britain by air because Britain was like a castle with a moat. Britain fought back creating Battle of Britain. The R.A.F defeated the Luftwaffe after months of dog fights over British ground.
D-Day
D-Day started when the Allies did a lethal counter attack on Nazi France. Britain helped by America and Canada fought their way through France and into Germany! Hitler was surrounded with Allies on one side and the Soviet on the other.

Hitlers death
Hitler was hiding in a bunker. He knew he couldn't run. They'd shoot him at sight. It was in that bunker where Hitler shot his dog, his wife and himself.
